This 1873 $20 Liberty gold double eagle coin features the Open 3 variety in the date. It has been graded About Uncirculated 58 (AU58) by PCGS, meaning it shows full details but with only slight friction on the highest points from brief circulation. The coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a mintage of 1,709,800 for the Open 3 variety.

The obverse depicts the iconic Liberty Head design by James B. Longacre, while the reverse shows an eagle with a shield on its chest.
