USAGOLD has been shipping gold and silver to U.S. investors since 1973. Every order is packed under camera, fully insured in transit, and delivered with an adult-signature requirement. The questions below cover how it works; the complete policy is on our Shipping Policy page.
Shipping is a flat $40 for any order under $10,000 and free for any order over $10,000. This applies to gold and silver orders alike; silver’s added weight affects transit time, not the fee.
Departure timing depends on your payment method. Orders paid by wire or credit card typically ship within 3 to 5 business days of receipt of payment. Orders paid by personal check or ACH typically ship within 7 to 10 business days, allowing funds to clear. If products are on back order or supply from the mints is delayed, we tell you at the time you place the order or as soon as we learn of the delay.
Orders ship via FedEx, UPS, or the U.S. Postal Service. Gold orders typically travel overnight or second-day air. Silver orders depart on the same schedule but can take longer in transit because of the weight and bulk of the shipment. Orders sent to a PO Box or via USPS should expect longer transit times.
Yes. Every order travels fully insured under either USAGOLD’s all-risk transit insurance policy or our depository affiliate’s all-risk transit insurance policy. This is also why shipments generally do not move over weekends or holidays — insurance limitations restrict transit on those days.
Yes. All orders ship with an adult-signature requirement for insurance and security reasons. You will receive tracking information by email when your shipment departs so you can plan to be present. We encourage you to track the package and be at the delivery address that day — carriers occasionally leave packages without collecting the signature, and USAGOLD cannot control an individual driver’s decision.
Two options, and both must be requested at the time you place your order (use the special-instructions field at checkout): provide an alternate address where you’ll be available during business hours, or request delivery via USPS, in which case the post office holds the package for pickup — typically for 5 business days before returning it. If a delivery fails because no one could receive it, reshipment is at the client’s expense.
Most orders ship directly from our depository affiliates; a smaller portion ships from our private facility under the same protocols. Once good funds are received, USAGOLD instructs the depository to release the metal, and shipments typically depart within 48 hours of that instruction. Every shipment is packed under camera with a witness.
Report any discrepancy — a shortage, an incorrect product — to USAGOLD within 48 hours of receiving the package. Every discrepancy is investigated against the depository’s shipping record, the packing-witness footage, and the inventory database before resolution.
Refused or returned shipments and cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee plus return shipping charges. Refunds on returned shipments follow the Cancellation Policy in our Terms and Conditions — note that all sales are final once an order is confirmed, and pricing is locked in both directions regardless of how the metal price moves afterward.
No — all sales are final once an order has been placed and verbally agreed by phone or confirmed by email. Your price is locked at confirmation: it cannot be renegotiated lower if the metal declines, and it will not be raised if the metal rises before payment arrives. First-time buyers secure their order with a credit card to lock and hold the purchase price.
