graphic representation of a bulletin board note reminder that the 1970s equal the 2020s“The biggest headache for financial markets right now isn’t the Russia-Ukraine conflict – it’s inflation, according to activist investor Carl Icahn.”

USAGOLD note: Icahn is right on this. Inflation is the bigger problem. It was a problem before the Ukraine invasion, likely to worsen as a result of it, and will still be around should the Ukraine fade from the headlines (which is beginning to look like wishful thinking). Resurrecting the 1970s, Icahn reminds us that it is not easy to put the inflation genie back in the bottle.
