Charles DeGaulle’s famous ‘Criterion’ speech

photo classice profile of Charles de GaulleGiven the increasing frequency and severity of international currency imbroglios and one emerging nation-state after another falling into monetary disrepair, it is not difficult to visualize more and more of these states looking to hold gold in their reserves as a matter of national defense. One recalls Charles DeGaulle’s famous criterion speech on gold in this context.
